Who can join?
Any mom who is a resident of Lompoc, VSFB, or Guadalupe can join the Lompoc Chapter of MOMS Club®. However, because almost all of our activities are held during the day on weekdays (when at-home mothers need the most support), we are most suited for stay-at-home-moms. Per our bylaws, our membership is open to any mom in our chapter’s area. We have mothers who stay home full time, mothers who work part time, work from home, work full time, and we also have mothers who are full time students.
What is your membership area?
We cover the areas zoned for Lompoc and Guadalupe, California, as well as Vandenberg Space Force Base.
If I’m not zoned for your club, are there other clubs nearby?
Yes! There are several other wonderful groups in the nearby surrounding areas including the MOMS Club® of Orcutt. The best way to find your chapter is by contacting the International MOMS Club® and giving them your address. Visit them on the web at www.momsclub.org
Can I attend a MOMS Club® activity before I decide to join?
Yes! You are welcome to attend two MOMS Club® activities before deciding to become a member. Annual dues are $30 a year. Once you decide to join, you must submit the necessary paperwork and dues to a member of the board.
Why should I join?
Most moms join MOMS Club® because they are looking for a playgroup or other activities for their children. You will find that and so much more. You will find support, friendship, resources, and fun. Some moms have met their best friends through the Club. Others have met their neighbors whom they wouldn't have otherwise met. The great thing about MOMS Club® is that you can make it what you want it to be. Participate at a level that is comfortable to you. Some moms only attend playgroup. Others attend every possible activity, while the rest fall somewhere in between.
What is the cost to join and how is the money used?
Membership dues are just $30 a year. These dues help cover the cost to run our local chapter. We pay the International MOMS Club® $5 per member per year to maintain our chapter registration. In addition, dues help support the International MOMS Club®, cover our outreach costs, help cover the cost of special events and help support our service projects.
How do I join?
It’s simple! Either contact us by email or on Facebook, letting us know you are interested. Don’t forget to include your name and email address. Our Membership Vice President will then contact you to help you get started and to understand the club better! Once you attend a playgroup, fill out the necessary paperwork and submit your dues, you will enjoy the full benefits of membership.
Why must I attend an event before joining and why don’t you post your prospective member events
publicly?
To put it simply, the safety of our members and our children is our number one concern. We need to know that you are a real mom with kids, not a creepy child snatcher. Once you’re a member, you will know that we’ve confirmed that every person in the group is a real mom, and that each member has signed and agreed to the code of conduct. Safety first!
Am I allowed to bring children to events and activities?
Yes! If anyone understands the need to bring children, it’s us! Being a stay-at-home mom shouldn't keep you at home. While we are a support group for moms, we welcome children! With the exception of MOMS Night Out and Coffee Break, our activities are catered around children to make your membership more enjoyable.
Do I have to bring my children to participate in an event?
No. We are a support group for stay-at-home moms, children are welcome but aren’t always necessary. While most of our activities and events do cater to children, we also offer activity groups that cater to moms (i.e., walking group). At-home mothers of any age children are welcome. You don't have to leave the group when your children enter school either, we know you still need support as your children grow.
