Note: You are welcome to attend up to two playgroups before deciding to become a member. Once you attend a playgroup and submit the necessary paperwork and dues to a member of the board, you are welcome to attend all club activities. Each month our chapter publishes a newsletter and calendar (for members only) that includes specific times and locations.
Walk and Talk: Several mornings a month we load up the strollers and meet at various walking trails around Lompoc. MOMS Club® members receive a monthly calendar with locations for upcoming walks and a description of the trail.
Hosted Morning and Afternoon Playgroups: Each month we have multiple morning playgroups and at least one afternoon playgroup. Members volunteer to host playgroups. The host provides snacks for the rest of the group and also chooses the location for that particular playgroup. Most playgroups are held at the park unless the weather is crummy, then it can be held at the member's home.
Club Happenings: One Thursday of the month, we hold our MOMS Club® Club Business Meeting. This is where members make suggestions, discuss upcoming events, as well as vote on any issues at hand. The meeting usually only takes 10 - 15 minutes and the rest of the morning is a playgroup. Potential members are encouraged to attend and children are also welcome! If you are interested in joining and would like to come check us out, this is a great way to see what we are all about.
Field Trips: Once a month we have a field trip or special outing for the whole club to enjoy. This includes trips to the Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Maria Valley Discovery Museum, the local fire station, Avila Valley Barn, the Cabrillo Aquarium and many more.
MOMS Night Out: Once a month, we tuck the kiddos in bed and enjoy a night out. This is a chance for moms to get out of the house and enjoy an evening out building friendships and getting a break from the daily grind. In the past, MOMS Night Out has included movie night, game night, fondue night, and bowling.
Family Day: Once a month, we schedule an event the entire family can enjoy. It might be a potluck at a park, a day at the beach, or maybe frisbee golf! This allows our families to see what we do and to network with other family members for encouragement and support.
Educational Activities: Specific groups and/or activities are scheduled each month that focus on encouraging curiosity, inspiring creativity, and exploring problem-solving. These are activities incorporate bits of science, technology, art and math. This includes activities such as Craft Time, field trips, or Baby Playgroup.
Service Projects: The Lompoc chapter participates in at least two service projects throughout the year. In the past, we have volunteered to face paint at the Lompoc Annual Easter Egg Hunt and given the proceeds to local non profit agencies in need such as the Lompoc Pregnancy Support Center.
Special Events / Parties: We offer several special events throughout the year for our members including: The MOMS Club® Annual Christmas Party, Halloween Party, Annual Installation Party (thanking the old board and welcoming in the new board), Valentine's Party and many more!
